The said painting painted on canvas is a landscape of cholistan desert in Pakistan. The cholistan desert also locally known as Rohi, covers an area of 26300 square kilometer it adjoins the thar desert extending over to sindh and into India.The people of cholistan lead a semi nomadic life moving from one place to another in search of water and fodder for their animals. Cholistanis mainly rely on their live stock and camels are highly valued by the desert dwellers and are used not only in transportation and loading purpose but its skin and wool are also worth while.
